Omaruru Game Lodge offers accommodation, meals and wildlife experiences.

Overnight guests: Our standard accommodation rates include dinner, bed and breakfast. Activities, including game drives and bushwalks, are charged separately unless expressly included in your booking confirmation. Lunch and other additional services are also charged separately unless stated otherwise.

Day visitors: Day visitors are welcome to enjoy activities such as game drives and bushwalks, subject to availability and advance booking where required. Day visitors must pay the applicable conservation fee to enter the lodge, in addition to the prices of any activities they book. Meals, drinks and other additional services are charged separately unless agreed otherwise.

Guests and day visitors are encouraged to communicate any dietary requirements or special requests in advance. All activities are subject to availability, weather conditions and applicable safety requirements.

3. Prices and Currency

All prices are quoted in Namibian Dollars (NAD), unless otherwise stated. Our published rates include VAT and the tourism levy, as stated on our rates page.

Prices apply to the dates and accommodation selected at the time of booking. Any additional services or charges will be communicated where applicable.

4. Bookings and Payment

A booking is subject to availability and confirmation by Omaruru Game Lodge.

Guests are responsible for carefully checking their booking confirmation and ensuring that all details, including arrival and departure dates, number of guests and accommodation booked, are correct before travelling.

Any errors or discrepancies must be reported to Omaruru Game Lodge as soon as possible. The lodge cannot be held responsible for incorrect booking details, missed or incorrect dates, or misunderstandings arising where guests fail to check their booking confirmation or provide accurate information. Any changes are subject to availability and confirmation by the lodge.

The following deposit and payment terms apply to direct bookings:

  • More than 30 days before arrival: 30% deposit.
  • 8–30 days before arrival: 50% payment.
  • Less than 7 days before arrival: 100% payment.

Payment is due within four days of the booking, subject to the applicable payment terms and any shorter deadline required for arrivals approaching.
Guests may pay by online payment, direct bank transfer or credit card at the lodge. A booking is secured in accordance with the applicable payment terms.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

Our cancellation policy for direct bookings is as follows:

  • 31 or more days before arrival: No cancellation fee.
  • 8–30 days before arrival: A cancellation fee of 50% of the total booking amount, including VAT.
  • Less than 7 days before arrival: A cancellation fee of 100% of the total booking amount, including VAT.

Cancellations must be communicated directly to the lodge and acknowledged by the lodge.

Refunds, where applicable, will be arranged using the relevant payment method and subject to any
necessary processing time.

For bookings made through third-party platforms, such as Booking.com, the cancellation and refund conditions displayed on that platform at the time of booking may apply.

6. Your Stay

Guests are requested to inform Omaruru Game Lodge of their expected arrival time in advance, particularly if they expect to arrive late at night.

The lodge is accessed via long distances and gravel roads. Providing an estimated arrival time allows us to prepare for your arrival, make the necessary arrangements and help ensure that you reach the lodge safely.

Guests are encouraged to plan their journey carefully and contact the lodge if they experience significant delays.

Respect for Guests, Animals and Wildlife

Omaruru Game Lodge is a small lodge with an oasis feel, where guests can relax, unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings. We kindly ask all guests to respect one another and keep noise to a considerate level to preserve the calm, relaxing atmosphere of the lodge.

Our resident animals, including cats and peacocks that roam freely around the property, are part of what makes the lodge special. Guests are asked to remain calm and gentle around the animals, treat them with kindness and respect, and never chase, frighten or harm them.

The same applies to the wildlife at Omaruru Game Lodge. All wildlife must be treated with respect at all times. Guests must remain calm, avoid using flashlights or camera flash near wildlife, maintain a safe distance and never attempt to touch, feed, chase or disturb the animals. Please follow any instructions provided by lodge staff regarding wildlife encounters.

By being considerate towards fellow guests, staff and animals, everyone helps us maintain the peaceful oasis atmosphere that makes Omaruru Game Lodge a special place to stay.

Guests are responsible for any damage to lodge property caused by their negligence or deliberate actions.

Additional charges may apply where appropriate.

7. Liability

Omaruru Game Lodge takes reasonable steps to provide a safe and comfortable stay. However, the lodge cannot be held responsible for delays, interruptions or failures caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural events, government restrictions or other unforeseen events.

Guests are required to follow all lodge rules and staff instructions relating to wildlife encounters and safety.

A safe distance from all wildlife must be maintained at all times. Guests must not approach, touch, feed, chase or disturb wildlife, or engage in any behaviour that could endanger themselves, other guests, staff or animals.

Omaruru Game Lodge accepts no responsibility, to the extent permitted by applicable law, for injury, loss or damage arising from a guest’s failure to follow the lodge’s safety rules, maintain a safe distance from wildlife or comply with staff instructions. The lodge reserves the right to intervene and take appropriate action where guest behaviour compromises safety or the well-being of wildlife.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia, subject to applicable mandatory legal requirements.
